The La Jolla Shores has been voted by tourists down the years as the most spectacular beach in San Diego and one of the most beautiful in California. Apart from its sparkling water and golden beach, what draw hordes of tourists to this beach are its amazingly gentle waves which let amateurs try out scuba diving and surfing under the expert guidance of trainers. After a fun-filled time at the beach, visitors can take a pleasant walk, jog or run, or sprawl out on the grass in the adjacent Kellogg Park.
If you want to see the most magnificent surf breaks and don’t mind a little merry crowd, head off to the Windansea Beach. Enjoy it while sprawled out on the less rocky part of the beach or go for an energizing swim or surfing. Because of the rocks and shore-breaks, swimmers and surfers are advised to be on their guard.
Blacks Beach (also known as Torrey Pines City Beach and Torrey Pines State Beach), flanked by massive hillocks, has been declared unsafe in parts. Also, lifeguard facilities are often not available here. That doesn’t stop the brave hearts from indulging in certain water sports. Paragliding, handgliding etc. are quite popular here.
The North Pacific Beach has intimidating hillocks towering over it and poses a pretty picture. As far as water activities are concerned, scuba diving is not one of the popular sports here. However, plenty of surfing and sailboarding activities are observed in this beach.
The two-mile long Pacific Beach is a busy place. Apart from the usual beach action, the boardwalk is heavily trafficked by pedestrians, cyclists, as well as shops selling beach items, souvenirs, foodstuff etc. The Mission beach also draws heavy crowds. Youngsters are seen playing ball games o the beach, and engaging in other water activities including rowing, boating, sailboating, swimming etc. the Nature Park at Mission bay is popular because of its variety of living creatures. If you have a dog, it would feel at home at the Dog Beach, part of the Ocean Beach.
