Alfonso's of La Jolla
Has a great happy hour with tasty margaritas. The food is excellent and the patio dining experience is fun for people watching. At night the bar goes off and during the holiday seasons they usually open up and outdoor bar to serve guests
Crab Catcher
Everyone knows about George's @ The Cove which is a great experience, but if you want spectacular views with better seafood this is your spot. All three dining rooms have views of the La Jolla Cave and Pacific Ocean. This family owned restaurant is always improving and changing the menu. All dishes are fresh and exciting. A hidden jewel so to speak
Downtown- Their are so many here to choose from (The Fish Market/Top Of The Market) and (Anthony's Fish Grotto) both have bat front dining and fresh seafood daily, but one new spot recently opened called the Marble Room located on Fifth Ave. has great food and drinks which is rare to find in the tourist trap of the Gaslamp Quarter.
Marble Room
California Style Tapas means small plates dining that is a shared experience. It is a great tasting variety of food that has you constantly ordering more. Unique almost Vegas style decor is comfortable and the history behind the restaurant name is quite unique. Ask your server to explain
De Medici
Again 75% of the restaurants in the Gaslamp Quarter are good while 25% are terrible with high price points. This long lasting restaurant is in the 75% category is great to entertain larger groups of people. The Italian eatery is always good and they have valet parking just outside the restaurant. Table side dishes are always fun to experience and they a few dishes that are prepared this way.
