By far Disneyland has proven to be our top selling attraction here at VSC. Never has a them park/resort worked so hard year in and year out to keep making itself better. Having worked with Disneyland for the last 5 years I can say without hesitation that they offer so many terrific family opportunities, it is still my favorite (31 years old now) place to go and escape the real world. If you are coming from out of town and staying for a few days in Anaheim we recommend doing a 2 day or 3 day park hopper purchase for the family. Even though we can not help save you money on a single or 2 day park hopper our online discounts for 3 days and above will save you more than $40.00. Some other great notes to keep in mind are stay at a hotel close to the resort. We book rooms for the Islander Inn here at VSC as well as offer info on other Anaheim properties which are close by Disneyland. The reason you want to stay at a hotel that is walking distance to Disneyland is because you will save money on parking and the resort itself has so many easy to use transportation resources that are free why spend the extra money on parking a vehicle.
As for what is outside the resort in the immediate area, the newly opened Anaheim Garden Walk is about a ten minute walking trek from the resort exit on Katella Ave. Here you can go to the movies, eat at some great chain restaurants including Roy's, McCormick & Schmick's, and Bubba Gump. Their is also great shopping here so if you are taking a break from Disneyland this wold be a good place that did not seem to crowded to visit.
